Are you eligible for OHIP-funded IVF treatment?

Beginning December 2015, the Ontario government, Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, will fund one IVF cycle for women under the age of 43. Additionally, men who require services in support of fertility treatment (e.g. surgical sperm retrieval) will be eligible for funded services as part of one funded IVF cycle. *

According to the government announcement, “Ontario residents with a valid OHIP card who face fertility issues and have not already accessed government-funded IVF under this new program will be eligible for funded fertility services regardless of sex, gender, sexual orientation or family status. The new funding model would contribute to the cost of one cycle of IVF per lifetime for all causes of infertility, including non-medical factors experienced by same sex couples and persons who are single.” *

LifeQuest is pleased to participate in this important government initiative. Because this is a new program for both patients and fertility clinics in Ontario, like you, we are currently awaiting specific details about exactly how and when we will be able to offer it.

If you think you might be eligible and would like to place your name on our patient list for OHIP-Funded IVF:

Call us at: 416-506-0804 or toll-free 1-866-543-3046

We will keep you informed and ensure you’re contacted as soon as we have enough information from the government to set up the program and provide it fully.

A note on timing: Some patients have asked us if they should wait for funding before proceeding with an IVF cycle. Each individual case should be considered separately. If you are considering waiting for funding, please speak to your LifeQuest physician about whether postponing treatment could have a negative impact on your treatment outcome.
